ABOUT THE MILL

Arbony combines centuries of European wood-finishing heritage with modern craftsmanship in Belgium. Specializing in aged, distressed French Oak, Arbony’s artisans use proprietary aging methods to give each plank the authentic texture, patina, and soul of centuries-old reclaimed timber. Sourcing exclusively high-grade French Oak, the mill balances historic artisan aesthetic with precision engineering.

AVAILABILITY & ORDERING

  • Made to Order: Fabricated in Belgium on a made-to-order basis. Please allow a standard 14–16 week production lead time.
  • Sample Orders: Request samples to experience the deep chocolate tones and authentic aging.

CUSTOM HARDWARE: The Old Factory Collection can include custom hardware set right into the planks, like the iron plates shown in the photo. They add a bit of rust and hand-forged character, and they turn the floor into a conversation piece. Ask us about placement and options for your project.

GRADES & WIDTHS

  • Manoir Collection: Rustic Distressed with an elegant, soft-textured finish.
  • Width Options: Available in random and fixed wide-plank widths ranging from 5.51" to 11.81" (14 cm to 30 cm).
  • Length Options: Variable plank lengths from 1.3 ft to 7.8 ft (40 cm to 240 cm), 4 ft to 7.8 ft (20 cm to 240 cm), up to 9.8 ft (300 cm).
  • Thickness Options: Available in 0.59″ (15 mm) and 0.79″ (20 mm) profiles.

FINISH

  • Osmo Hardwax Oil: A natural, microporous finish made from plant oils and waxes that penetrates deep into the French Oak fibers. It preserves the organic, tactile texture of the wood, offers easy spot-repairability, and allows the timber to age gracefully with a rich patina over time.

DURABILITY & PERFORMANCE

  • Engineered & Solid Constructions: Available in both Engineered Tongue & Groove and traditional Solid Tongue & Groove options. The engineered profile provides enhanced dimensional stability against seasonal atmospheric shifts.
  • Radiant Heat & Climate Stability: Engineered options provide structural integrity that resists cupping and warping, making them suitable for varied climate conditions when properly installed according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Janka Hardness Rating: Premium French Oak offers robust durability (approx. 1,360 lbf), exceptionally suited for high-traffic residential and commercial applications.

ENVIRONMENTAL & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Sustainably Sourced: Arbony owns and operates its own dedicated sawmill directly in the heart of the French Ardennes Forest, maintaining strict oversight across every stage of production. Deeply committed to environmental stewardship, Arbony sources controlled timber exclusively from sustainably managed forests in Belgium and France. To support rigorous green building standards and responsible sourcing requirements, products can be supplied with FSC® (FSC-C118621) or PEFC (PEFC/07-31-303) certification upon request.
  • Eco-Friendly Finishes: Finished with natural oils designed for healthier indoor air quality in residential and commercial settings.
